Protocol
The host and the runtime exchange framed messages over stdio: JSON-RPC on the
control channel and a binary data channel for bulk payloads. The runtime
announces itself with an __hello handshake (protocol version, runtime,
capabilities) and talks through a Transport abstraction. See
